My journey to a healthy life begin in 2015 but didn't kick into high gear until May 2016 when I finally made the decision that I was tired of being overweight and that if I didn't do something about my weight and health that I would end up like my mother, barely able to move. Since that revelation I have lost a total of 75 pounds but do to hurting my hip, not being able to walk like I normally do, and stress eating I have gained 20 pounds back. My original why to get healthy started with my mother and wanting to make sure I was healthy so I could be there for her, but as I have lost the weight it has become more about me than my mom. I love the way I look now and it has given me a little more confidence in myself than I ever had before. My mental well being and confidence are still a work in progress but this is the best I have felt about myself in a long time and I'm determined to get that last 25 pounds off to reach my goal weight and to stay healthy and active.
