Until I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, I didn't really watch what I ate and when. I was relatively healthy, but was starting to feel a lot more tired than usual. I went in for a normal wellness check for my insurance to find out that I had a low grade fever. Blood work showed I had stage 3 kidney failure and Diabetes with a level of 528. REALLY BAD! It took the doctors from April until December 2018 to find the insulin injections and pills that would keep my sugar level under 150. Tomorrow 01/24/2019, I begin work with a diabetes nutritionist and today, I started with Spark People
This is not going to be an easy journey for me as I am used to cooking, eating and doing exactly what I want to, when I want to, except working for a living, got to do that! I'm from a large family, but I've never married, and I'm the great Auntie that ever lived. I'm 2 years from retirement, and if I want to do and enjoy all the things I have planned for then, I'd better get myself as healthy and fit as I can be. BUT, I'm going to need all the support I can get. Are you going to help me?
