Winter Fun

This week we had a choice of 2 Blogs. I'm choosing "WINTER FREE CHOICE! Blog about anything you like or don’t like about this time of year."



Many cringe at the first signs of winter. I happen to enjoy all four seasons, and love the changes winter brings. As the temperatures dive, I wait in anticipation of that first snowfall. Each flake is unique, and it amazes me that no two are alike. I love watching them flutter around until they land on the ground.



Regardless of the time of day, I can't wait to get out and feel the first flakes as they land on my eyelash, nose, and cheek. While each has a cold bite, they warm my heart and bring back the excitement of younger days. Making snow angels is a must. With the right snow, it's fun to build a snowman, possibly a fort, and then engage in a good snowball fight.



As a child, I waited anxiously for that day when snow was extra heavy and school was canceled. When that happened, it was time to head to the park to go sledding or ice skating on the frozen pond. Winter provides so many activities for outdoor play. When it's time to come in, I love to grab a good book, wrap up in a blanket, sit by the fireplace, and enjoy a hot cup of cocoa.
