Good news on the ortho front. Now if only I could get my brain in control.

Thursday, January 24, 2019

I've nothing earth shattering.

Headachey, I think it's all the changes in weather.
Joints complaining. A combination of REALLY working out and the weather.
Good meals, not so good meals. Something in between would help as a few pounds came back.

Ortho visit today. Knee is good. No lunges or running/jumping EVER.
He thinks my shoulder MRI looks pretty good with minimal disruption of the biceps tendon/rotator cuff area. Keep doing all the exercises I'm doing and come back one day if it bothers me too much. More reps on the exercises and don't go crazy on the weights but what I'm currently doing is ok. He thinks I've got myself if really good shape and should be proud.

Now if I could only get my brain to adjust to my eating wishes so that I could take off more weight. I can exercise every day. It makes me feel great. Why can't I stop eating junk or too much? Maybe it's time to get my brain checked out.

So glad to hear that the knee is as good as it can be. And your doctor is happy! That is not to be sneezed at.

I'm doing so well with the eating, DH is in full support and that helps so very much. Since I subscribed to this food service I don't need to shop, or hardly ever, and all I need to do is cook my food. It is really simple and satisfying and after about five months I am making my lunches and breakfasts to fit in with this plan and the good nutrition is making a huge difference.

We both love the food, even though DH would dearly love to return to his naughty ways he is loving the weight loss and so am I.

I think it is the good nutrition, huge numbers of vegetables very few carbs, goodly portions of meat, very limited processed foods, lots of herbs and spices, and my palate has changed for the better. Since I put the whole programme together the weight has been falling off me. I don't think I was eating enough before...

No running, jumping, or falling with the bionic bits. I adhere, within reason. I gladly set aside the running, minor jumps with low impact workouts, annnnnnnd shoot I fell last summer. Still not sure why. Not looking to repeat, yet this girl can trip on a speck of dust. Do what ya can, sounds like you’ve done amazingly well. The food, yep! If it were easy there’d be no need for spark. Maybe you need some new recipes, some new food challenges or tastes.

My body’s complaining too with this weather...kinda sounds like Rice Krispies! Sighs...Only three solid more months of this nonsense.

My joints are popping and screaming. We could start our own girl band! The Support Hose Pussy Cat Dolls. emoticon emoticon

My doctor says the same thing - no running, no jumping, no dancing naked on tables. He didn't actually say the latter but my balance isn't that good any more and I don't want to fall on someone and give them a free lap dance. You on the other hand, sound like you are ready for MMA. I can be your manager. emoticon emoticon

No need to rush into getting your brain checked out. They do that when you eventually reach 65 and have your welcome to Medicare checkup and your yearly wellness check up. You better start studying now. You are in big trouble. emoticon

Congratulations on the emoticon Ortho visit!!!!

I think you've pinpointed the role of the brain... IMHO other than resorting to chemicals with other unsavory side effects, we learn to prod, cope, and converse with our brains with results that vary... greatly.

I think you need look no further than the outdoor thermometer, the hours of sunlight, or the calendar! I am recognizing in myself the "January" syndrome! But knowing that's what it is, I can keep some loose boundaries around it...

I sent you some boxing gloves, just in case! emoticon

Darn brains! Sometimes that command central needs to be taught who's in command. **SIGH**

But hey, your Dr. is happy. That's a huge positive. And the shoulder looks good. In the same boat with my titanium knees . . . no running or jumping. I admit, I fudge a little and fast walk, but otherwise, I'm a good girl. NOT Easy.

Hmmm. Sounds like your brain is just fine, unless you have a different brain for food?
