Confused about weight

Feeling cofused and kinda depressed. I weighed myself a week ago. The weight was pretty high (about 8 pounds more than my normal overweight self). That's when I decided I must start losing weight. But then I got delayed, I left for the week to deal with a family emergency. I decided to forgo any attempts at starting my weight loss journey and deal with the emergency at hand. Well I weigh myself again when I get back and I'm another 8lbs higher. I even checked a second scale and it's accurate :0 That's 16 lbs in two weeks gained. I don't get it at all. Plus my clothes only feel slightly tighter than normal. Not 16lbs tighter. What could be going on....?
