TRYING TO BE ACTIVE IN WINTER

Saturday, January 26, 2019

To stay active I like to walk outdoors. Winter in Nova Scotia can make this difficult but the last three days have been beautiful. Hope it stays like this awhile longer but I think that is only wishful thinking. I am hearing about some messy weather to our West so I suppose it will be upon us soon

I am on Cape Cod, we have not gotten any appreciable snow which is unusual for us. The temperature seems to swing from the 40's to the teens. As long as I dress up warmly I can usually get my 3 miles in. I have been lucky so far, no ice.

We have a polar plunge, so I will be indoors for the next few days.

No plan for indoors. Had a treadmill. Hated it (so boring). Just bundle up and go. I have snow pants and snowmobile boots (they are pretty heavy but warm). I have a friend for whom I walk a beautful black lab every day.

Just saying Nova Scotia sounds like walking there would be breathtaking. Hard to beat that!
I suppose you have a winter exercise backup plan when the weather shuts you in?
