I was too tired to write my blog last night, but it's a pretty significant one, so I'm writing it today!
1. Met with my new therapist for the first time today. It's taken me a few (HA) years, but I'm coming to terms with the fact that my relationship with food is disordered, and I'm not sure any diet and lifestyle change will ever have a chance at becoming permanent unless I deal with my psychological relationship to eating and food. Meeting the therapist is step two. (Making the appointment was step one.) Now to see where things go from here.
2. I'm leading a couple of Instant Pot classes in our local library system, and today was the first one. I think just about everything that could go wrong did! I left my measuring cups and spoons at home, I forgot a can opener, and I blew our surge protector with four Pots plugged in at once....
Everyone laughed and had a great time! The food still tasted great, and I think a lot of folks learned some new things, and some of the veterans got to network with others. I think the program was a success, despite the obstacles.
3. I had pizza! And it fit into my meal plan! But it did NOT sit well with me at all, so the next time I order (not any time soon though, that's for sure) I'll adjust my order accordingly. I love that restaurants are starting to include not just nutrition information, but also nutrition calculators so you can plan and adjust your intake, so I can have options and plans in mind in case life happens.
If anyone happens to read this who saw my previous posts, the chihuahua seems to be healing up just fine. So fine, in fact, that he and the border collie are chasing each other around our rather tiny place until the border collie has enough and hides (he's a very low energy guy for his breed; I think he must have been crossed with a sloth).
