Never too old to learn

I thought I knew quite a bit about nutrition after gleaning information from years of dieting but I have to say, I have learned and re-learned a lot from the SparkPeople site. I've learned that I'm not alone in the battle of obesity. There are many great individuals on this site that continue to inspire me with their stories. I've learned about my own nutritional habits by running my nutritional reports. I am able to see where my meals are or are not balanced. It shows me areas I can continue to improve upon. I have learned that my diet doesn't have to be all or nothing. There is room for pleasure if I make plans for them ahead of time. I have learned to include the pleasurable calories into my nutrition tracker before I actually eat them. That way I won't overeat. I have learned that I can exercise after years of living a sedentary lifestyle. I am learning to set goals and to strive to reach them. I have learned that my new healthy way of living and losing weight is the best investment I can make in my life.
