I'm plateauing :(

I've decided to lower my caloric intake back to 1300 from the 1400 I'm currently at.

I've been stuck since February jumping back and forth between the same 3 lbs. I thought going back to the gym would budge the scale in the right direction, but is not.

I'm feeling slightly discouraged by my lack of progress, although realistically, I know I shouldn't be.

I'm only 8 lbs away from goal weight, I'm in the healthy range and I'm strong, but now it's just more of a matter of pride than anything else.

    Don't give up. It will happen. I actually did exactly the same thing when I was only 3 pounds from my goal. I plateaued forever and finally decided that I was at my goal. I figured it must be my happy weight and it was where I was supposed to be. Stay strong. You will get there. You can do it.

    Consistency is key. You know what you need to do and you've done it thus far. keep at it...the rest will come. Don't ever give up!! emoticon

    Sparkpeople does have coaching tips. I find lowering carbs more so than calories helps. Congrats on reaching your goals thus far.

    I understand you feel discouraged. Print out those photos of you when you first started last year and blow them up to poster size!!! LOOK HOW FAR YOU HAVE COME IN SUCH A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME! Your body knows you are wanting it to lose more weight but is comfortable where it's at and it will take shaking things up a little to get it down those last few pounds. Be patient with yourself dear one. Keep being strong and with persistence and perseverance you will make it. You are such an inspiration to all who know you and many more that have watched you on your journey.

    Since you are going to the gym now, you're probably building muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. Stop beating yourself up and be proud for what you have accomplished. You've got this!
