What is 2 Weeks?

What is 2 weeks? emoticon
2 weeks ago at this very minute I was in surgery. Because of post-menopausal bleeding,(and the damn thing never worked-as in no babies) we decided I needed to have a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy, including my ovaries and Fallopian tubes.
So many new experiences have happened to me in the past 2 weeks. Other than having my tonsils out when I was 4, this was my first surgery and hospital stay.
One thing I did learn-I am not a good patient! I have no patience for me or anyone else when I am hurting or frustrated! I want to be better NOW! I am afraid of blood clots, inactivity, not working (no paycheck), going back to work, not healing and hurting. WOW basically everything.
Another thing I did learn-It is OK to be just OK! One Day or One Minute at a time. And Breathe. This too shall pass. Self care is not just a saying! It is very important after surgery. This is a concept that took me a few days to realize how important it was. I may seem to be lazy, in my eyes, but I am not. I am caring for ME!
The most important thing I did learn-WORK those abs, back, legs and arms before surgery! Because I had 4 weeks between the decision to have surgery and the actual surgery, I had time to prep for it. A girls best friend after abdominal surgery is the Bridge! After surgery I needed to put on a binder to help hold everything in place. The nurse said "this is going to hurt since I need to roll you when I put this under you." Instead I did a bridge and NO PAIN at all! YEA! Arms-well you gotta pull yourself up and set yourself down, another best friend here. Legs-up and down again. Abs and back are a no brainer! Without strength you are basically screwed!
I feel better today than I did yesterday. Which I am taking as a good thing. And, God willing, I will feel better tomorrow.
One Day At A Time!
Breathe!

You are not alone. Be careful & don't overwork your body. When the time is right, you will feel better than you have in years. Hang in there!!!. On a positive note "No More Menstrual Cycles"

Your body will go through a change having everything gone. I had a total with everything taken 2 years ago. I feel good but wish I had worked my abs more prior. Hang in there. Everyday you will feel better and stronger
