You never know what you're capable of untiil you try. That's what I learned today.
We didn't schedule a trip to go to our friends' house today, so we walked all the way. 1.7 miles, baby! I've been only doing distace walkng about two weeks and have seen a huge improvement. Before I started taking better care of myself, I was winded and barely able to talk by the time we got to their house. This time, I was only slightly winded and could talk just fine, thank you very much.
I learned my lesson today. I kept saying that I couldn't walk tht far yet, but today proved differently. I'm training to walk a 5k walkathon to support leukemia and lymphoma research in November. It's called "Light the Night" and it's November 2nd. So keep an eye out for me talking more about that as time goes by. I just heard about it today, so I don't know much about it yet, other than it's in Cary and the date and what it's for.
I will probably get places like Tin Roof Teas and Penzy's to sponsor me. Maybe You Call This Yoga will sponsor me some and I might even get my yoga instructor to sponsor me a little. Let's see, who else? Maybe the grocery store where I go shopping, Village Deli, and the vegan restaurant I've gone to a few times. I know I can get lots of sponsors as long as I start looking in August or September.
So that's my update for the day. Look for more information on Light the Night later, and I'll blog again tomorrow!
Love to the World,
