I look at this challenge excitedly and nervous. My health and wellness are at stake. I want to live the game of life with my children and not be watching from the sidelines. Today, I went to the doctor for a physical and tipped the scale at 298 pounds. I've had a couple of scopes on one knee; adjusting my stride is affecting my hip. Losing weight won't replace the cartilidge in my knee, but it will lighten the load! At 5'11" and 40 years old, I don't expect to reach 160 lbs. My goal is to lose 100 lbs. I want to excercise on a regular basis. I want to eat a healthier diet. Who am I kidding? These aren't wants; they are needs. I want to be an example for my children and help them to build healthy habits. I need to take care of my body so they don't have to. Today is a fresh start!
