A Fresh Start

I completely quit SparkPeople a couple of weeks ago and created a completely new account. I have had a very difficult year and I'm ready to put that part behind me
May 2nd of last year, my brother was diagnosed with inoperable, stage 4 cancer. They did daily radiation and weekly chemo which knocked the cancer down a few pegs and he was even able to go back to work. Then in November it came back with a vengeance and he passed away on January 2nd.
In the middle of that, I started having my own health problems. I was born with a congenital heart defect so any time I start having heart symptoms, it isn't just an easy answer. Until we made sure my heart was okay I couldn't do any exercising. And I was out of breath pretty quickly just doing little things. After 4 months of going to different doctors and several medical tests, I finally got the all clear to start exercising again a couple of weeks ago.
Needless to say, with all the stress and not being able to do much of anything, I gained more weight.
Several times over the years I've said a certain weight was my line in the sand. And then I end up walking across that line in the sand to a new one. This time around there is no line in the sand. It's a brick wall. I'm not going above that line.
187 is my line. I refuse to go above that. I have 52 lbs to lose and I began a couple of weeks ago. My goal is to be 135 by April 7, 2020. My 49th birthday.
My other goal is to run a zombie run 5K in memory of my brother. We had talked about doing one several years ago and time just got away from us. I'm having to start very slowly so I may not be ready for one this Halloween, but for sure next Halloween.
I'm looking forward to the journey.
