After a routine check-up my doctor tells me my kidney function is not where it should be and that my blood pressure is too high. She sent me home and told me to restrict my sodium and lose weight and come back to see if my numbers improved. I obsessed over salty food so I knew I had plenty of room for improvement . When I started tracking my food and seeing my intake I was surprised to see that I easily ingested a out triple the sodium that is recommended.

It's super hard cutting back on the sodium if you're used to a lot of very salty foods. Try lower salt versions of things you enjoy and you can get "SALT SENSE" at the grocery store. It's real salt but with 33% less sodium (how it's cut, I don't know, but you can't tell the difference in taste). I've been using it for years.
    Good luck.

You are lucky that she wasn't like many docs who automatically put you on meds.
