Blahs and Other Stuff

Thursday, May 16, 2019

It's been a looooong week; not only have we been living in a perpetual fog and drizzle zone but it is COLD! +5C (mid 40'sF) is not conducive to feeling energized and there is only so much cleaning, sorting, tossing that one can do to fill the days. Yes I have a good stash of books to read but normally that is a wintertime activity for me.
My walking buddy has suddenly decided that she wants fewer, slower and shorter walks. She is 13 and has developed hip issues so this week I have struck out on my own, faster for sure but I do miss the doggy company. When she is gone my plan is to downsize, leave my rural property and buy a condo in Halifax, closer to my kids and to the airport for travel. Until then I will enjoy my gardens, more so when it warms up!
Speaking of downsizing; this is an interesting article: www.thechronicle

Tomorrow begins the annual Spring ritual here in Canada, it's Victoria Day weekend, time to break out the BBQs and tents, open up cottages and as some like to celebrate enjoy a 2-4 or other libation. Of course a smoky campfire will help keep the black flies at bay as well!

That's such an interesting article on down-sizing.

Because I don't ever want to be dogless (just looking forward so much to the anticipated puppy later this summer) I do think I'd prefer to downsize to a tiny house rather than a condo. But of course there are some dog-friendly condo options too: and walkability is a huge factor.

Hope that the blahs have lifted a bit!!!

Poor doggy! Age does this to both people and dogs, unfortunately. I am wondering now if I am developing arthritis in my left hand. I think it's just wrist fatigue from using my computer so much. At least, I hope. It's great that you have future plans, some people don't.

We had the 40s and raining/foggy last week. This week sunshine until today when it rained for a bit, then the sun came back out. More rain tomorrow night into Saturday.
Our holiday weekend is not this weekend, but next. Hoping to get moved into the new house that weekend.

You Maritimers sure have had your share of rain and fog, as well as cooler climes. Soon your seafaring Provinces will be one of Canada's most beautiful places to live in. I love to be near water; especially the sea.
