Arthritic knee

Friday, May 17, 2019

Hi, all!
I was doing great getting my steps in, but then my bad knee started acting up. It’s been quite painful and I’m very discouraged. I went back in for acupuncture on Thursday, but it’s too early to feel much improvement.

Today I’ve managed to get in half my steps, and I hope I won’t pay for it.

Does anyone have any tips for continuing exercise with a painful knee?

Thanks,
Martha

I have osteoarthritis in both knees and no cartiledge in either knee so I well know what you speak of. What I do is make short walks numerous times a day. Maybe a trip to the end of the driveway (that is like a city block), or take the dogs for short walks. I end up taking probably 5-10 short walks a day as long as my knees tolerate, and I ice them down when I over do it.

I have arthritic knees as well. The only thing I do is to keep moving. Mine do not hurt emoticon emoticon much, except sometimes going up and down stairs . Also at times bending down to sit down and get up. They have been bothering for many, probably 15/20 yrs. if I keep working out the pain subsides. Do not know if that will work for you. It does for me.
