I'm shocked.

I just ate one of the larger meals I used to eat all the time, probably about 2 times a month or more. And the calorie count on it was over 2,000!! WOW! I don't know why I ate it today, I just took the day off, not upset or out of any type of willpower breakdown, just wanted to. I have been doing great sticking in my calorie range every day, exercising 6 days a week, and overall it is going well. But I think at some point I looked back with rose colored glasses a tiny bit, just kind of like hm, I wonder how I actually gained all this weight?

Having this meal and tracking it was kind of eye opening. I mean I had tried to figure before what I used to eat in a day and I think I underestimated how many calories I was eating before I began trying to lose weight. It all kind of came back to me after logging this large meal. This meal that should have been like....4 meals instead of one. It also amazes me that yes, if you eat too fast you won't feel full before you eat too much.
If you eat processed foods the salt and fat combo make it way to easy to over eat.
And that really tracking and logging food and staying in range isn't that hard.

Anyway. I'm glad I had this meal, I enjoyed it. I have no plans to do it again any time soon. I look forward to being back on point tomorrow. I am rather shocked at how many calories I was eating before. Nobody needs that much food unless they are like training for an iron man or something, LOL. It is insane, I don't even understand how I used to eat this way all the time. No wonder I was miserable! It is WAY too much food!

Just so shocking....

    Good job, I constantly learned about myself the first year on this program. what I found out my mind always played games with me on the amount of food I ate. Bottom line is I need to log things and be held accountable.

    Don't beat yourself up start fresh tomorrow one day at a time That's what I do. I'm going to get there just slowly then I will step it up

    It is a shock to me too. I get full much faster now and I feel much more energetic when I eat less. But I still like some of those calorie laden foods I used to eat. Once in awhile won't hurt. Moderation in all things right?
