Can you have too much fun...

Saturday, May 18, 2019

Today's class was just too much fun. Of course I didn't read my instructions and cut my batting wrong so first thing was I got to be an example. I laughed at my self and made jokes about you can always count on me to do something off. I think by the end of the class I had made at least one of almost any mistake you could make doing this table runner and all 5 of us had also made several more of them. We were all laughing so hard one gal said next time she took a class she was going to make sure Jo was in it. And then I came home to empty. Ate my late lunch because class ran almost 4 hours.

This coming home to empty and alone seems to be the biggest problem but I call the way I acted in class with the laughing and stuff as "wearing my happy face". I don't seem to be able to do it alone.

My little table runner is all done except for a binding and I'll have to find some material to do that tomorrow.

Thanks fulls
1. having a great time with people all doing the same things and enjoying it. We all stitched down out templates at least once.
2. After sitting in class it felt really good to put my feet up for an hour
3. good days

Tomorrow I will deliver the quilt to baby Hazel along with the rocking chair. To me that feels like a big thing taken care of. My mother did not want to see that outside the family because it was her mother's childhood chair. At this point I'm going to let that go and know that I did the best I could with it. And then I'm going to come home from lunch with my cousin and his wife and make more flying geese. I will finish those things this week. I promise....

Thank fulls
1. a class full of like people doing the same thing.

I think the quilting classes you've been taking are one of the healthy choices you've been making for yourself. As an introvert I enjoy the time I spend by myself - it's how I recharge. But even an introvert needs to get out and interact with other people. I've tried to be intentional in finding a balance of alone time, doing the things I love to do, and having specific activities I'm getting out to do with other people. You'll figure out what balance works best for YOU!

It can be so much fun to laugh at yourself! And if the whole class is laughing too, that is the best!

So glad you are having a good time with your classes. So fun! Animals can certainly add to the emptiness. So glad you are interested in a dog. They are so loving.

Your house should not seem too empty if you get that little dog when you come back from your cruise. I also feel that you are doing so many things to keep busy which I think is great! The last year or two I find myself doing a lot more reading and a lot less crafting! I don't go as many places as you do either since my legs are always bothering me and either use two canes or a walker most of the time.
