Never Give Up On Your Dreams

Sunday, May 19, 2019

My Mother liked to dance and she was a good dancer. Later in her life she was in a nursing home because of a weak heart.

When Mom was 91, she had been in a hospital for Pneumonia. When she was out of hospital, they were doing physical therapy with her and the therapist asked me if there was any incentive she could use to help Mom. Of course I told her about Mom's love of dancing.

A few days later, I witnessed my Mom dancing. One of the male aides had volunteered and was slow dancing with her. She did not realize there were three people directly behind her waiting to catch her just in case she fell.

My Mom's face was lit up like a bright light. She was so excited to dance again. It wasn't a long dance, but it was dancing.

How lovely that your mother had such caring and compassionate people to help her - and a loving daughter who remembered.
