My National Anthem Speech
Monday, May 20, 2019
Before I sang the National Anthem last night, I gave a mini speech. Here's what I said.
"A great man once said 'America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedom, it'll be because we destroyed ourselves.' This great man was Abraham Lincoln, who knew that freedom is not the right to do what we want to do, but the power to fight for what we believe in. As Armed Forces Day just passed and Memorial Day is coming up in a week, we can never forget how much blood has been shed to get us here. And though many of our veterans have returned home physically safe, their lives are never the same. It is imperative to commemorate our forefathers who endeavored to leave us a legacy of faith, family, and freedom. Above all, we must always remember God, Who is the only One Who can give us freedom, whether in the White House or from our sinful, depraved state. May we, as Americans, never be ashamed to say 'In God we trust', and may we make sure that this always stays the land of the free and the home of the brave."
After I said this, I then sang verses 1, 3, and 4. Check out the rest of the verses, they're just as good as the first!!!
