Feeling Good with SAD
Monday, May 20, 2019
I am feeling better after my week long mini-depression.
I am maintaining my weight loss and managing to fit in a social life with normal meals and some occasional drinks
My squat has still been a bit problematic but I have just paused my hypertrophy (raising the weight each session while maintaining some volume) plan and am just squatting light weights but mixing up the type of squat. For example this week I did my warm-up squats and 1 working set then backed the weight off and did pin squats and high bar squats. I suspect it is a mental problem so this week I will work on figuring out how to up my game mentally - any hints? I think I am actually just afraid of the weight suddenly which is very very strange to me haha!
My deadlift and bench are going along pretty well so I guess that is the sport - there is always something that needs attention. I have a Push/Pull competition on the 16 June (Bench and Deadlift) so I am glad my squat is the problem child at the moment haha!
On the job front - it is a little frustrating. I am still applying for jobs and getting interviews which is good but I am a bit impatient and apprehensive about finally earning some real money!
Overall I am getting things back to a semblance of normality and routine and am looking ahead to the future again! I think I get a little bit of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) where you get a bit depressed when the seasons change and it is coming into winter here in New Zealand so that tracks...
Just keep going right?
