My Variety of Exercise

1. Yard work is cardio and some weight lifting too!
I love to rake our yard. We have over an acre of land, and there's lots of yard work to do. There are days that instead of going for my walk, I rake. Cleaning up the yard is my domestic workout, and improving our property. Gardening and the yard work are great alternatives to a walk around the block for me.
My DH does the mowing and weeding of the garden, but I take care of the raking and also do lots of weeding. I guess there's always plenty of work to do when you have a yard and a garden. To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.
Do you do lawn care as part of your exercise routine? I love seeing the improvements every time I take out the rake or hoe. If the black flies get too think, I can always go for a walk or hop on the bike.

2. I like to hike! My all-time favorite form of exercise is to hike Mt. Monadnock with my husband. Mindful quiet hiking can change any bad day into something very positive.
Variety is the spice of life. What do you do for exercise variety?
