May 22, 2019 ILL WILL
A lot of times we feel worried and stressed and we don’t know why. One remedy to fix this is to check and see if we are harboring any ill will toward another person. When we are holding a grudge and not forgiving someone who has hurt us, we will feel worried and stressed. It may not show up right away but it will affect our lives. We may have unexplained health issues, irritability or depression. We need to look into our hearts and pray for God’s help to take action to make things right about any ill will in our lives.
Ephesians 4:32 “Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.” (NLT)
1. Write about any ill will you have toward someone.
2. List what happened and how you feel about it.
3. Know God wants you to forgive those involved.
4. Seek Him to help you forgive so you can stop worrying and start living for God.
Dear Lord, we pray You will reveal to us any ill will or harbored feelings we have toward others. We know we sometimes put those ill feelings in the backs of our minds and try to forget about them. Help us, we pray, to seek out any ill will we have toward others and forgive them so we can live according to Your will. We don’t want to be worried about any harbored negative feelings. We want to be free to live for you and full of forgiveness just as You are. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
We are not to judge others because we truly don’t know the whole situation. We are to called to forgive them and share God’s love with them.
Luke 6:37 “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn others, or it will all come back against you. Forgive others, and you will be forgiven.” (NLT)
If we want to be heard when we pray, we need to forgive others or God will not hear or prayers nor forgive us.
Mark 11:25 “Whenever you stand up to pray, you must forgive what others have done to you. Then your Father in heaven will forgive your sins.” (CEV)
We must forgive others for the wrong they have done just as God forgives us.
Matthew 6:15 “But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (NIV)
