About 1 month later - Still going strong

Well - as of my last update, I was down about 13 pounds and I am down 21 pounds as of today. I feel better than I have felt in years! I told someone today that I feel normal because I am no longer obsessive about eating. I fast anywhere from 16 - 24 hours every day and, when I eat, I choose foods that are generally low carb with healthy fats.

I actually returned from vacation 2 lbs. lighter than when I left. I never once felt deprived. I think that I finally found a way of life that I can see myself following for the long haul. I don't really have to think about what I'm going to eat & when I'm going to eat.

I eat when I'm hungry until I'm satisfied and just avoid sugar and processed carbs. I still have sweet potatoes and carrots and other veggies that most people following low carb avoid - I just don't go overboard eating them. I have to admit I haven't had rice and have had very little white potatoes - but that was a choice I made. I also don't eat a bunch of fruit but still have apples (high fiber) and blueberries.

If you have ever felt like you are controlled by cakes, pies and cookies - you may want to research this way of eating. Once you get it out of your system, you don't miss it at all. My husband eats something sweet every night - we keep chocolate in our house along with his snack cakes - I am never tempted to eat any of it.
