So turns out I understood what was said about the roofing incorrectly... The Landlord was sending roofers to look 2 weeks ago, so they could provide estimates. To date, though only 2 have showed and both this week, I guess. I saw one, he didn't appear to be very happy with what he was seeing and said he had been here 2 years ago and was turned down for his pricing then. Anyway... 2 down and in theory 4 more to visit.
We also had a little discussion today. He'll let me know before anyone starts so that I can move my "stuff". In turn, I'll hold off on planting until they're done. Also, he said his daughter told him she'd like to hang onto this property!!!! So that means he won't be selling (again, in theory) any time soon. I told him to tell her I love her and thank you!!! I've known her since she was 16. He was happy; previously all his kids told him to sell all his propertys; they weren't interested in inheriting them. So - Yay me!!! I love my little house!!!
Going to make a cheesecake today. Should be interesting. Today is the coolest of the next 7 days so the best to go ahead with it. It will make 8 (or more) servings and each slice should make a great meal almost by itself. Only a bit of protein will need to be added because it will contain the fat and carbs needed, but if I put collagen in my coffee; there I go. I'm looking forward to it. I haven't had cheesecake in ages.
I've been going outside and singing at the top of my lungs, the Algonquin water song each morning, with the exception of those when it's been raining (which is really dumb, since IT'S THE WATER SONG
). I am loving every moment and while I was a bit shy at first about being outside when folks may or may not be about, now I don't care. I raise my hands, lift my face and sing it in each of the 4 corners; East, South, West and North.
I am also loving this women's movement. After all, water IS life. The project asks women around the world to act as keepers of the water and the song gives gratitude and forges an awareness with the water we use every day; that we are made of water, and that things need to change. Sing the water song is the name of the project. It really has made me more aware of how much I use and how much I was wasting. It's also a very beautiful but somple song.
So that's been my whole thing for this week. I took the whole week off. I'm gathering and grounding, communing with nature and getting back to basics. Opening wndows, soaking up the fresh air, the smell of raindrops and the sunlight. I'm walking around barefoot in the grass, mud and warming earth and I couldn't be happier. This is what I want to do for the rest of my life, LOL.
For now, however, it's only going to be for the rest of this week.
