Bonus blog: Views on my walk

That felt gooood! Runkeeper called it 5.22 miles. I call it long and slow, as if I want to do another half marathon come September, I have to start building the base. I have a 10K a week from tomorrow, which I hope I will complete with jogging intervals included.
As I was walking, I had to stop three times to take photos of things that struck my fancy. The first was simply an observation of how full Holmes Lake is with the recent rains. Not as flooded as it was last month, mind you, but there was water in the tunnel under 70th street, which affected my route.
The second is a tribute to how technology has changed the very concept of public parks. Just as the Internet has changed libraries... beside the playground equipment in the park with that lake? Electric outlets installed for the convenience of child-minders? We can't live without our chargers, can we?
The third was as on of the corners of my roughly rectangular loop. It is part of this year's Community Art project, located outside one of the residence homes. The theme this year is "Serving Hands". This particular statue is titles "Patchwork Fields".
Onward to a fresh and healthy day!
