I indulged some today. We went to Ihop, and we don't go there often. One of my favorite things there was the stuffed french toast topped with strawberries, yum! It was a tad overdone, so the edges were hard, but that was okay, because it helped me not to overeat. I know my blood sugar was really high after eating, I had to lay down when we got home and am still not feeling very well because of it. But, I don't indulge often, and I decided that for this one meal, I would. Perhaps I should not have, but it felt really good to just let myself eat what I wanted and not calorie or carb count for once.
Don't worry, for the rest of the day I will be very good, lunch will be a protein shake and dinner will be a chicken leg with some asparagus. I have most of the meals for the week planned out, leftovers will be big on the menu. I don't normally do meal planning by day, we just wing it, but I am wanting to try to do better meal planning this summer and see how it works for our family. One of the problems that we've been having is that the kids have been just eating whatever they want, whenever they want, and not asking. We'll buy them enough food for lunches for two weeks and it will be gone in one. We'll work on that this summer too. We bought snack foods for them and told them that this is all we are buying, so don't overeat, don't eat more than one of each a day. If you run out, oh well, you are out of snacks till we go grocery shopping again. It's not like they don't have enough to eat, it's that they want to eat only the 'junk food' that we buy. So, if it happens again, no more junk food.
Anyway, waiting till I feel better to work out, probably before I cook dinner, it's pretty hot outside right now. Gonna play a game with DH in the meanwhile and then work on my goal planner for June. I could totally go lay down again, but I'm not going to let this get me down for the whole day.
