A Spark Moment - Food Items I Never Knew Could Be Good For My Weight Loss Effort

I know that tweaking my diet is still one of the best ways to shrink the waistline. We all know that the best belly fat burning foods contain fibre to get rid of bloating, protein to maintain healthy metabolism and antioxidants to help you boost the effectiveness of your abs workouts. I recently made some weird observations when I came across an article on a list of food items that are good for Flat Abs. Here are six of the food items I could never have guessed to be good for weight loss.

1. Quinoa

Quinoa is a complete protein that is loaded with fibre. It is also easy to cook. You might not believe this about the small, little vegetarian grain. Quinoa is good for weight loss because it contains fibre that helps you feel full faster and longer. This will hinder you from eating too much and encourages satiety. Since your body will be breaking down foods like quinoa with energy, you will be burning more calories.

2. Hot peppers

Hot pepper is one of the weird items I found in the article published on Weight Loss Reviews Hub. An article reviewed by Dr Laura J. Martin on the same subject on WebMD also made the same point. Apparently, capsaicin, a compound that gives hot pepper its spicy kick, heats up one’s inside. This triggers the burning of extra calories in your body. You can take hot peppers cooked, dried, powdered or raw.

3. Eggs

Apparently, eggs are good for curbing the appetite. Researchers at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center reported that people who ate eggs at breakfast felt less hungry throughout the day, more than others who took other alternatives. Their study found that the protein in eggs increases satiety and decreases hunger, helping women eat fewer calories throughout the day.

4. Dark chocolate

There is no way I could have added dark chocolate as one of the food items that are beneficial for weight loss. However, because it helps curb cravings for salt, sweet and fatty diets, dark chocolate slows down digestion by nibbling on chocolate and eat less at your next meal. Dark chocolate is packed with MUFAs, which studies have shown to rev the metabolism to burn more calories and fat. Rowena Portch went into more details on how dark chocolate help lose weight.

5. Collard greens
I have never been a fan of collard greens. But how can I argue against that fact that one can get the recommended amount of vitamin K, vitamin A and daily recommendation of 7.6 grams of fiber in one serving of collard greens? It only cost 6 calories and has the best belly-filling fibre content. Leafy greens have carotenoids that will help you prevent cancer and low-calorie counts that will help you shrink your waistline. 6. Coffee
I had to confirm this from another article published on HealthLine by Kris Gunnars. You may have known that coffee can reduce cravings but it can also help to boost the metabolism. It can increase the way your body uses fat for energy since it has antioxidant chlorogenic acid (CGA). The research mentioned that CGA reduces insulin resistance by slowing down the release of glucose, which inhibits weight gain.
