We leave for up north tomorrow. When we travel, it's restaurant meals, no home cooking.

On weekdays we eat breakfast at a restaurant, then someone picks up something from a fast food restaurant for supper.
On the weekend we have something from the hotel's free breakfast bar. It has a very limited selection so we usually have mini-waffles and yogurt. Then we go out to eat at a restaurant at night.
Meals are far apart. I get hungry. There are no restaurants near the hotel. I am alone at the hotel during the day, so the only option for noon meals is delivery from a restaurant or sandwich shop.

I faithfully log in the nutrition tracker every day. As someone here said this week, it is too late to make corrections when logging what we already ate. I am struggling to stay within my calorie range so the messages below are notes to myself. I don't like letting myself down.

On a good note, today I drove for the first time since I hurt my shoulders a few years ago. Driving was no problem. It was difficult getting my legs into the car on the driver's side. I've had a number of hip surgeries so my legs should be working well. Until I can get in and out of the car easier, I won't be driving alone. That is my ultimate goal.
I have enough flexibility in my shoulders and arms now to make required movements for driving. I was able to reach the seat belt and fasten it myself. I am overjoyed that both arms worked well when driving.
The motion has greatly improved in my left shoulder. Still need the right shoulder replaced but can't do that until I can rise from a sitting or prone position without using my hands during the two month recovery period following surgery. Not a candidate at present but I'm working on improving.
I will become independent again.

    When we used to do lengthy road trips, we packed a large ice chest with good eats and some snacks we didn't need.

    It would be hard for me, too, to go all the way from breakfast to dinner without eating! But it sure would make dinner taste good, no matter what the menu. Eating out together with your relatives for breakfast and dinner sounds fun.

    It's great that you're driving again! I hope you reach your goal of getting full mobility so you'll feel safe and be an independent driver. I live in Japan, where there's lots of public transportation, so even without a car it's possible to get around by myself, but I remember how it is in the US, where you have to have a car, and you have to drive everywhere. I hope you have a great time up north!
