Day One

I don't expect anyone to read this; I'm pretty much just using it as a journal. Today I took a major step to try to get my life back. Because of some health problems, it is imperative that I lose a lot of weight. Ideally I should lose 130 pounds (eventually). But I just haven't been able to get motivated. After receiving some bad health news on Monday, my husband encouraged me (no, forced me really) to join the YMCA so I can use the pool to exercise. I didn't want to for various reasons (excuses?). It cost too much money. I don't have the time. I have too much social anxiety to go do something new. Anyway, last night I joined, and this morning I went for the first time. I'm so glad I did. I spent over an hour in the pool swimming and doing moves I remember from taking water aerobics years ago. I haven't moved for an hour straight in a long time. It felt so good. Thanks, Sweetheart, for your "gentle" prodding. One day down, many more to go.
