As the World Turns

Tuesday, June 18, 2019

I've gone silent for a bit. I run out of things to say. I get lazy about blogging. I feel that my topics are trivial compared with what's going on in the world. I go through periods of time away for awhile as I've been on SP for a decade now.

Some of my wonderful SP friends have checked in on me with loving kindness, wondering if I'm okay. They tell me that they miss my blogs.

So at least I'd like to say hello and update a bit. Doing fine, and so is my fur baby Harry. As many of you know, he is my elderly cat and three months ago I went through one of those brief downturns with him. I cherish each day and he is doing well.

You may remember a neighbor friend of mine who was recently diagnosed with leukemia. I was helping him find a shelter dog. Well, three weeks ago he brought home a Siberian Husky named Kaya. She is an absolute sweetie and I am her official godmother. (smiling)
She's a big girl and needs lots of walks which are terrific for my friend. His is a non-chemo type of leukemia, so he is holding steady. I can tell that Kaya is bringing a lot of joy into his life.

Overall, eating and exercising going well. My body is pain free right now after a long healing spell from hip sprain that started to make my leg hurt also. There isn't a day that I don't have immense gratitude for no pain.

There are currently no major stressors in my life - a very rare occurrence indeed! (smiling) My thoughts and prayers are with those here who are struggling with health for themselves and/or family members.

I'll try to blog fairly often, but no guarantees. Big hugs to all. Have a happy, healthy day.

So glad to see you back again! I had actually checked your page last week to see if you had blogged and I had missed it. Even if you don't think you have much to say, people want to know! I love reading my friends' blogs about their lives, and the stuff I blog on isn't too exciting either...

So glad to hear Harry is well. And for your neighbor with Kaya. Animals are so important!

I know what you mean about blogging. Sometimes, I feel I have nothing relevant to say, and other times I'm too busy to take the time. I find that the blogs I read regularly are either funny jokes of the day types, or they are the type where people talk about their everyday lives. I prefer the latter. I like feeling like I'm getting to know the person, and not just reading rants or whines. I tend to tune those out.

So wonderful to hear a good news blog from you! Glad you are feeling great and your friend found a pooch (although huskies can be quite the handful)
I am spending the summer at my Mother's, very busy helping out with chores and gardening as she is not recovered from the fall on ice she took during the tail end of winter. She broke her elbow and it never healed right leaving her arm weak. Her hip and knee constantly give her trouble and her hands are badly swollen, but she still does the majority of work :-( I gave up duplicate bridge due to bad brain fog from sleep deprivation and am okay with that as it frees my time to be with Mom. I still work on the Probus news letter which I enjoy although tech problems drive me crazy. My pain doesn't allow me to sleep more than 2-4 hours at a time. I still keep up with exercise.
    Have a good summer!

Sometimes life happens! Summer gets busy. Do the best you can. Its nice you're helping your neighbor. I have a cousin that had non Hodgkin leukemia. She had a bone marrow transplant and it cured her. She's over 10 years free of it.

Yeah. You are still alive and doing awesome. Glad prince Harry has had a turnaround. Miss reading your insights and new experiments- fruit, plants, food, keto. You are one to try new things and go above and beyond for others. Kaya sounds like a beautiful addition to your neighborhood and grateful to have a godmother like you. Every time we take my daughter to the pool I think of you often and the enjoyment it gives you. Have a great day
