Midnight Musings... Again

Woke up because in my sleep I started rubbing at the muscles in my neck, they are so sore! I didn't do anything that would have made them this sore... I think I see a lot of yoga/stretching in my future! The only thing I can think of is the new mattress we got. It's memory foam and feels comfortable enough, but man do I feel like I've been beat up!

I probably should have gotten some hot tea instead of coffee, but habits are hard to break. It was automatic to turn on the coffee grinder and prep the coffee machine. Need to stop doing that in the middle of the night and leave out some tea in front of the grinder to remind myself not to have coffee.

YDD was falling asleep on her feet yesterday (could have been faking to get out of cleaning, but she seemed to really be falling asleep), so ODD and I cleaned, decluttered and organized the kitchen yesterday. We still have to catch up on dirty dishes and decide where to put the fruit bowl and aerogarden (if I get it out, I really want to, but the kitchen looks so nice with the bare minimum out!). Next we will probably tackle the pantry, it is a mess.

Today it is supposed to be cloudy, but no rain, so it is water day, we will clean out the small plastic pool for the pups and let them play in it. Hope (Golden) loves to play with ice and will stick her whole muzzle in the water trying to get it and blow bubbles, it is so cute! I don't know if Pickles (small dog) will like it or not, we'll see. We are going to blow bubbles too, I read that dogs love to play with bubbles, so we are going to see. After play time, we will wash them, and then it will be 'pamper day' for the humans. Nice bubble or salt baths to get us clean again and face masks and lotion and all that jazz.

Made the fudgy Paleo brownies yesterday, not as sweet as I was hoping, but still tasted good, and I need to tame my sweet tooth anyway, so I think I really like the recipe. It does leave a slightly powdery feel in your mouth. One kiddo liked it, the other did not. I'm going to stick with things like this so I don't crave as sweet of things. I could make it more sweet by adding more honey if I really wanted to, but I do like it as it is. Here is the link if you are interested:


I'm having a hard time sticking to Paleo, but I think that is because I know I'm not going to be able to stick strictly to it on vacation in two weeks, so my mind is kinda going, what's the point? But, I'm not going to think about vacation, I'm going to think about my health now and stick to it as close as I can.

Okay, going to try to get some more sleep, will write some in the morning if I have more to add. For now those are my plans for Tuesday. DH came home sick with stomach pains, towards the end of the day he was talking about feeling fuzzy-brained and sure enough he had a fever, I handed him the tylenol, but have no idea if he took any. I hope he is doing better today.

Hope ya'll are getting a better night's sleep than I am!!

    I made the frozen banana ice cream last night for the first time (just pulverize frozen bananas with a food processor...that's it!). I added some chopped walnuts - OMG. SO very good. Amazed at the creaminess.

    I drink honey vanilla chamomile some times when I wake in the middle of the night. It helps about 50% of the time.
