Second time's the charm

Sunday, June 30, 2019

I'm back on SparkPeople for the second time, after a year and a half away. Of course I wish I hadn't stopped, but at the time I just felt unable to take an interest in my own health. I guess I was depressed. Then I got laid off, and got more depressed. And ate more to feel better. Which as we all know, is a vicious cycle. But now I have a new job, working from home, and although the hours are weird (2pm-10pm), and the pay is less than my old job, I am feeling a lot better. I went to see an endocrinologist who prescribed metformin for my pre-diabetes, and gave me a meal plan, and I am trying to work in more exercise. I am really serious (at the moment) about tracking my food and weight, but the proof is in the pudding, as they say! So far I have lost about 6 pounds in a bit over a month.

Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall.
