This is a first for me, I have never blogged before and never considered doing so until coming to SparkPeople. I retired 12 years ago after spending over 50 years in the insurance industry, the last 25 of which was in the health care and ancillary benefits area. My goal was to finally lose the 25 lbs I had been carrying around and return to the gym on a regular basis. I rejoined WW and found a trainer, the journey had started. Fortunately for me, I am a gym rat. I love working out, especially when I am not trying to do it after working all day!. I have had many ups and downs, in the weight area, finally reaching my goal, again, about a year ago. My doctor put me on a limited carb diet which helped me finally achieve my goals. My goals now are to maintain my current weight, continue working out and taking care of my health. Worthy goals, ones which I work on daily. I start my day on the site reading the 6 articles. I find this keeps my focused on the my goals and reinforces the reasons for starting this journey. I also continue my WW workshops, the same group for over 10 years, they are my core support and restart each week. Believe me I am not perfect and have the same daily struggles everyone has...but, it is a way of life, one which I actually enjoy.
