So it begins

I have joined my wife on this journey. It's been a struggle for years but recently the Dr informed me that unless something changed a potential heart attack was looming. With three grandchildren I have more motivation than ever to kick it into gear.
My wife opened a Spark page and showed it to me. I like the name... it 'sparked' my interest, literally and here I am. I have lost 4 pounds this past week, and she has lost 7, simply by watching what we're eating. We don't deprive ourselves... we have our guilty pleasure day and sometimes guilty moment, but it's always within the calorie min-max for the day.
This is my first entry. I'm excited to see how this all goes.
*Edit: I should note that although my calorie counts and other stuff probably isn't being kept diligently up to date online, I do keep serious track of every morsal I eat.... and frankly I'm having a blast doing it. Even with just 4 pounds gone I'm feeling a lot better simply by not eating all that crap I was eating before.. ZOOOM
