Making a Plan

Tuesday, August 20, 2019

I have lost 35 pounds over the last few years and have learned a lot about healthy eating. Since I still have a lot to go I am going to reach out for support and do more tracking of the food I eat. I did Keto and intermittent fasting (16:8) but I never felt well on it even though I lost weight. I am switching to low carb with lots of vegetables and continuing with the fasting. Eating less than 20 carbs a day meant I never got to have any fruit and even veggies took me over my limit. I am hoping with 50-75 grams of carbs per day I get to eat more variety of good foods. I also limit dairy because I feel better when I do. I am excited to get some structure going again.

I have been eating low carb for about 2 years. Not Keto as I don’t believe any lifestyle plan should mean giving up entire food groups for the long haul. I eat 30 percent of my daily caloric intake with carbs. I do try to make sure they come from whole not processed foods, such as vegetables and whole grains, as much as possible. I have created a healthier lifestyle that I can use to live, not just to lose. After all that’s what we want to do. Live and enjoy the life we have.

It all begins someplace and you just started there. Sp is the way to do it.

We want to remember it took us a few years to put our weight on and it comes off a little at a time, just like it went on. People get frustrated with it not coming off faster than we put it on. But with consistent focus on doing what we are told on SP we will hit our objective. Like many things it just wont get there overnight.

Make sure you make one of your most focused goals you water intake. Myself, when I hit plateaus its because I am not doing the water correct. I found using a reminder on my phone to be very helpful in making sure I keep on track with the water

It's important to get all the micronutrients from food & it sounds like you know your body. Better to go slow & stay in your calorie range but eat a variety from all food groups. I too avoid dairy as do others. You can do well & continue to lose.
