In the 200’s!

For the first time since September 14, 2018 I am back in the 200’s. I weighed in at 298.8 this morning. So excited. Total of 21.6 pounds lost so far. I have been battling thyroid issues for years and was diagnosed with Hashimoto Thyroiditis approximately 5 years ago. My thyroid levels continue to read in the normal range every time tested but I’ve been dealing with signs and symptoms of both hyper and hypo thyroid. Doctors say no need for meds until thyroid totally quits. Doesn’t help me as I suffer going back and forth between hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism but life goes on. I have found some relief going as clean living as possible. Clean eating and with hygiene items. (As little processed foods as can tolerate- still have some weaknesses. Lol. Baking soda & vinegar instead of shampoo & conditioner, no deodorant etc & detox often in epsom salt baths) I’ve struggled with my weight for 24 years. I weigh a lot more now then I did 9 months pregnant with child #4 when I hit the 200 pound mark and ever since continued to gain. A hard pill to swallow. For years I tried hard to loose the weight and only gained more and I know I used this as an excuse for my increased weight and gave up hope thinking my thyroid is ruining my life and no hope to change. That was, until I started going clean living and changing my life around. I also quit doing intense cardio and restricting my diet as much. I was made aware that I was stressing out my body and living in constant Fight or Flight response. Now I eat better, drink mostly only water and one cup of milk daily, exercise but not to the extent I was and have found that if I stay between 1800-2100 calories daily I am loosing the weight. Even under a calories by 100 I plateau. I bought myself a new “smart” scale and started using it June 11, 2019 and have recommitted to Spark People and myself. Since then I’ve found my new healthy lifestyle is becoming a habit instead of another diet or exercise fad and have been consistently loosing the weight. Spark People has helped so much and the encouragement from others is fabulous. Thanks guys you make this journey so much more enjoyable and effective. Onwards I go striving to meet my small goals until I can add them up in the end to a goal of 170 pounds approximately lost.
