Making My Way to SparkPeople

Wednesday, August 28, 2019

Nine months ago I had a baby and he is wonderful but I’ve gained more weight. I’m back in the 300 club. When I was pregnant I didn’t worry about being 310 lbs because I knew it was baby weight and I easily dropped quite a bit of weight shortly after little guy was born. I was so happy to have a wonderful little boy, to be a little smaller than when I got pregnant, and to be able to eat some things I couldn’t have while pregnant. And then I started eating too much and too many of those things and now here we are. I’m not sure how much I weigh at this moment because I couldn’t bring myself to weigh in. I watched From Fat to Finish on Amazon and I found it completely by accident. I was looking for Brittany Runs a Marathon and since it’s not available yet Amazon made some suggestions. I enjoyed From Fat to Finish and to be honest, cried through most of it because I want to be motivated enough to lose weight and be healthy enough to walk a 5k and then maybe a 10k and then maybe a half marathon. Right now, I’m not sure I’m interested in running but it was great to see in the documentary all the different shapes and sizes of people on the team who were running. I think that’s what got to me. Ive also been seeing my sister do sprint triathlons and half marathon trail runs even though neither of us have a runner’s body, whatever that is. It’s inspiring to see someone in your inner circle succeed and triumph. I noticed the SparkPeople logo on the van in From Fat to Finish so decided to give it a try. I have never been successful with any type of food tracking or exercise plan. So I expect a lot of ups and downs throughout the whole process. Today is Day 1 of tracking food and melting in the heat. Walk tomorrow morning.

Thanks God that you can run or sprint and that you are still able .to do these changes while you young enough to enjoy your children. I am not able to do many of the exercise but I am still able to drop the pounds but it is much slower then when I was younger. When you make these changes your whole family will enjoy the added years of pleasure.
