Back to Business!!

Wow, so according to SparkPeople, it’s been nearly 150 days since I’ve posted a blog. It’s been at least two months since I’ve tracked my food. I haven’t gone totally off the rails but, I haven’t done myself any favors by disappearing for so long.
But, here’s what happened in the meantime: immediately after the honeymoon, and that last entry, I broke a toe. Then, while walking around with a broken toe, I linked so much that I threw out my back. For over a month. So, the summer was off to broken start. I also started and expanded a business, which has been fun and wonderful and challenging, and of course on top of all that, I’ve really loved being a newlywed. My husband is my hero and an amazing man who I admire very much. I love that he’s been able to make some major life changes and has gotten a lot healthier, and now that things are settling down a bit, I feel very ready to get back into SparkPeople.
A few updates from the food front: I’m going “sugar sober” again (meaning, for me, no sweets or any triggering foods except for one special occasion a month). I also had to go off the chilaquiles. Even though I absolutely loved them, they started giving me heartburn and making me very physically ill, probably because I was turning into a hot sauce addict. So my new breakfast is two slices of Ezekiel/sprouted bread and as much butter as I want (usually a tablespoon for both slices). It ends up being under 300 cals for breakfast and keeps me incredibly satisfied and alert.
Now, we’re renovating our kitchen and I’m excited to do more cooking in there. Experimenting with new foods and options is always a good thing for me (have been marinating chicken in new blends and that’s been pretty fun and worthwhile) and a new kitchen will help!
So, more to come, but in the meantime, thanks so much for your support! Good luck, everyone.
