Fall 5% Challenge

I am sitting here this morning with blackberry scones just out of the oven, and artisan apple yeast bread in it's third stage of rising. Apple snickerdoodle cookies that I made last nite are on the counter (with half ready for the freezer in the garage), and I know I am ready for the 5% Challenge to begin! Fall and winter will be my downfall here in the PNW, with three apple trees, and three pear trees coming in to harvest. And wild blackberries all around the property. This has been my dream for so many years and it's finally come true. Living on 4.6 acres with two puppies and 5 baby chicks keeps us plenty busy, even cutting and splitting firewood and other outdoor chores to prepare for winter (I always wanted to live like Laura Ingalls Wilder!), and I get in my steps most days easily, but it's time to get back to lifting weights and counting calories, watching sugar intake, and losing 5 lbs so that I am back in my maintenance range. I am excited that I will get to be an Extra Leader for the Walkers, Runners, Joggers, and Gadgeteers and I know this will help really keep me on track during this Challenge.
