Day 31/ 5% Challenge/ Sleep
Wednesday, September 18, 2019
So, I haven't kept up my working out. Since we upped the med I'm on now for sleep, I get so groggy I take 2-3 naps a day with the puppers. They love it, especially our older rescue. My younger Golden, Hope, has to go in her kennel sometimes. Especially if I'm getting a migraines. We've discovered that somehow my migraines and seizures are linked (they started about the same time, I've had migraines for a long time, but not this bad since I first got them). Generally she is really good and will lay on me and put her head on my head, letting me know I should either take my migraine med, or if she is laying more on me, not move because I'm about to have a seizure. This is called an alert, and I did not train her to it. She does it automatically, naturally, which is what would make her a great service dog, if only she would get out of this fear stage!!
Well, sometimes it makes her nervous and she chewed the edge off of my weighted blanket! Thankfully just the decorative edge so it is not ruined. And yesterday she got tired of laying down and bashed her head into my head and then flopped on me, doing it yet again. What a harsh way to wake up! She's so goofy! I had taken some clothes off the night before, and my hamper is in the laundry room, finishing up washing, so I put them on the floor, and she had dragged them into the hallway and put them in front of the stairs, lol! Big sign for me that she needed to go run outside for a while and play fetch!! Which we just got done doing this morning. Someone left the door to the stairs to the basement (fully done and the entertainment room and exercise room and a bathroom are down there) which is where her kennel is, and she started barking shortly after I got my coffee. She normally doesn't hear me.
The 5% Challenge starts (I think) Oct 5th!!! I hope and pray that my sleep is in order by then!! My doctor said we have two more meds we can try, we are only trying the one I am on because it did help me with sleep before, but the grogginess only lasted for a few hours in the morning, not all day!!! So I see him tomorrow and will get on a different med. It's nice to be getting sleep, but I have so much I want to get done too! Especially in the workout room, I need to clean my treadmill, sweep and mop the floors a couple of times (muddy dog prints), dust, and tape up my walking program with a highlighter hanging beside it. At this rate I'll do what I can this week, but actually start the walking program next week (it's meant to be started on a Sunday). I'm so excited for the Challenge!!! I signed up to be a Starfish (as you can tell by my Sparkpage, and I really hope I made it!!).
Elderberry is supposed to be really good at keeping sickness at bay or even knocking it out. I want to get some elderberry preserves and elderberry tea (tisane). It's in my cart. The preserves may have too much sugar for me, but will be great for the kids. Maybe I can even talk DH into trying it. The tea would be for me and YDD, we both love tea!! And most teas I just need a touch of honey, if any! My niece in TN has a friend that makes an elderberry tonic, recipe passed down through the generations, and she said it is amazing how well it works, but is not cheap. I'm hoping the tea will help stave off any illness this winter.
Aunt G just called and said she is coming over for lunch today, so I must go and shower and take the dogs out and all that good stuff.
Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday... I wonder if I can get a nap in before Aunt G gets here? I'm suddenly so tired!!
