Be Yourself! A strong young woman.

Sunday, September 22, 2019

Sydney, my 16 yr. old granddaughter. This year's school photo.

For those of you who haven't met her before she has been living with Alopecia since she was about 9 or 10.

Her parents bought her a lovely wig but years ago she made a decision and told her mom that "I'm going to school as myself." And so she does.

Her inner strength constantly inspires me!

Love it. When my son was in college I was pleasantly surprised to find that young adults there were, in general, extremely inspiring and unbelievably mature, like Sydney. They are mostly about inclusion and acceptance. They are not into prejudice, discrimination, and hate. In an atmosphere like that all kids can be themselves and not have to worry about their hair, clothes, sexual orientation, etc. Their values are often superior to their parents and grandparents and I for one wish they could take over running the world sooner. Sydney might make a great female president. Hopefully we won't have to wait that long though.LOL.
