I Pushed Play Today
Wednesday, September 25, 2019
So, I'm a pretty self-aware person these days. I know me: I'll get bored in a month if I do nothing but treadmill. So, I subscribed to Beachbody On Demand.
I like that there are 100 different video series available, all for different fitness levels. I'm not going to get into Shakeology or any of their food plans, but I am going to push play at least every other day.
Today, I started Country Heat. Aerobic full-body workout disguised as dancing.
I used to dance all the time. Every other Friday and Saturday night for four to five hours, I went to a club with a friend or two while my kids were with their dad. We didn't mingle much (shallow pool of contenders, let me tell you) and I don't drink much, so it was mostly dancing until they closed the doors.
I love to dance. I actually have rhythm. I'd forgotten how much I love to dance.
It was good, even though I felt uncoordinated and awkward and could only step-touch step-touch through half of the moves. I was moving, my heart rate was way above cardio level, and I kept it up for 40 minutes with minimal lean-over-catch-my-breath-omg-
I-think-this-is-the-big-one moments. I sat down twice to rest my back, but other than that, I did it. Tomorrow, I will do even better. Or maybe the day after tomorrow. Tomorrow may be Treadmill Thursday. Depends on how bad my muscles are burning tomorrow.
Keep smiling - it's smile or cry and I'd much rather laugh.
