DH has always bought himself good quality shoes and then taken excellent care of them . . . shoe trees between wearings, new lifts, new soles (there's a highly skilled local cobbler who conspires with him), regular polish. He's got some terrific shoes that are 40+ years old!! They just seem to get better and better.
And me? Women's shoes are much more "fashion" items and I've rarely spent much money on them.
But DH decided to polish up several pairs of my short fall boots for me . . using his (ridiculously expensive, made in France) base coat. Then (and he bought several new containers of the coordinating polish in colours to work with MY boots) polishing them up.
They are shiny!! They are soft!! And they look much much better than when they were new. In fact, they look like "expensive" boots. The treatment smells soooooooo nice also . . .
Loved them so much I persuaded him also to polish up several pairs of tall boots.
And then I've just grabbed a tiny bit of the base coat to buff up a couple hand bags and tried a bit on my burgundy leather pants also and . . . . yeah, this thing could get addictive!!
