Blog/Rant About Work

Some know there's been changes at work. At first it was concern over if we'd still have jobs which we do have jobs and we don't lose pay. But the stress has not stopped. Many of us are just sticking it out because we do have the option of quitting. I haven't blogged much about it because of all the anger I have but here is a few things that's going on.
Saturday I got off work with 2000 steps in & an hr later had 5500 in, not from exercise but from walking over to my Mom's to keep telling her everything that I had forgotten. I don't know how many trips I made to her place. I finally got it all out & made myself get in my exercise. My exercise anymore seems to be out of anger. I refuse to allow all this destroy all my hard work.
It started out that there would be 6 extra shfits a week that would need covered (24 a month).
Then it went to 4 less shifts per month would be available for part-timers. It has now gone to 11 extra shifts per week (88 shifts a month) that will need covered. The way things are going on a roller coaster that's likely to change Sheriff's Office (SO) says they will not fill the 2 positions where they had 2 dispatchers quit because they refused to work at a 911 center.
Chief deputy at SO says we will all learn how to correctly dispatch for law because we currently aren't doing it right. The fact that we are not even their dispatchers currently & we transfer calls to their dispatcher within 10-20 seconds of receiving a call (which is all documented by computer to the 100s of a second) doesn't come in to play. Doesn't matter that it is all recorded & you can hear just what is done & you can even document what was said at what time. They have decided we are at fault & we will do it right.
Our trainer asked for a checklist of training. Chief deputy's comment was we don't have one. Unlike us we have a checklist of every type of call that we have to be checked off on whether it be a real call or simulated. All but 3 of us have law enforcement dispatch experience. I retired with almost 32 yrs. Another has in 25+ years & the others have 3-5 yrs experience. Currently 2 of our part-timers are full time dispatchers elsewhere. Chief deputy also said the LEADS test we have to take is not open book. He's full of it. The 2 dispatchers are TAC officer for their depts & when I retired I was TAC officer & I know the LEADS rules.
Can't get an answer as far as their CAD system. Our CAD has an audit trail that anytime a call is brought up & changed it puts a notation i the report of who, what if anything was changed. I told co-worker Saturday if their CAD doesn't have audit trail & we don't make it policy to create call under our CAD that I WILL create one for every call of theirs I take. To say I don't trust them is beyond belief.
I have always wrote a book on calls mainly because I don't trust my memory a year down the road to remember what was said. Back in August when the changes were proposed I've gotten even more so with their calls. I was ranting to a friend Saturday night & he said they haven't even taken over yet & you are talking about trust & back stabbers. How long are you going to last? I'm sticking it out until the point my health starts headed downhill.
That's the short list of rants I have. I have already got my place decorated for Christmas. I looked at my schedule and beginning Nov 15 there will be no time to decorate so I did it. It helps with my mood. I'm daily up & down & I am doing what I can so I don't feel like I'm drowning. I am currently feeling like I am managing to stay at floating.
