Hope everyone had a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving. We certainly did!
Our daughter and her husband weren't here, missed them of course. We
did have my husband's 100 yr old mother with us. We feel so lucky that
she's doing pretty good even with a pacemaker, and being hard of hearing
and seeing. She's alive and well.
We had a lovely dinner - turkey breast, sweet potatoes, corn, mushrooms and
onions in sour cream, and stuffing. Dessert was pumpkin pie.
For the past few weeks, I was losing pounds. My goal is still to lose 50.5 lbs.
I have not given up, just not losing as much lately. I've made big changes to
the way I cook meals for us. My husband needs to be on a cardiac diet, low
carb, sugar, sodium. It takes time to make a big change like that in our daily
diet. I am reading labels on the look-out for the sugar and sodium counts. It's
amazing all the sodium in anything canned or boxed. I've always been fond
of making things from scratch, still do that. I only cut down on salt and sugars.
He lost 14 pounds...me? not so much.
I will continue to try my best to lose the weight I need to lose. Say a prayer for
our health and weight loss (mine and my husbands's), that we continue to find
good ways to prepare foods. Hope your Thanksgiving was the best ever.
