Day 4: Send Hell

I'm hungry. I haven't had a soda in 4 days. I haven't bought sweets in 4 days. Although I found a peppermint in my purse so theres that. I do chocolate advent calendars with the boys every year. These small, 17 calorie chocolates never tasted so sweet. Tomorrow is my sons birthday. I'm nervous. For his birthday we'll have spaghetti, bruschetta, bread and cake. He wanted orange soda and Sprite but I'm sticking with water. I'd be living if I said I wasnt tempted to toss in the Dr. Pepper. I did excellent calorie wise but still figuring out macros. I'm snippy, angry and hungry. Let's hope this passes

    That birthday meal is all carbs. I would if possible done or brought spaghetti squash & meatballs or sausage. If not & you can have dairy, try mixing some ricotta on your plate in w/ the sauce. Why bruschetta & bread? Maybe some ice tea or coffee.

    When I started with SP I said to myself Don't buy what you don't want to et as if it is not there you can't eat it.

    Very carb-centric and not much protein there. If this were me, I think I would stick to a piece of the birthday cake to celebrate with your son and bring along a protein bar. The Costco's Signature line produces a very tasty protein bar that packs a lot of fiber...15 grams! And 20 grams of protein! Though water is your best bet (always), for this occasion I'd pack myself a cold diet soda so that I wouldn't feel deprived. This way, I wouldn't be tempted to binge on foods I know can't benefit my weight loss efforts. You'll do fine. Enjoy your son's party. The key is to plan ahead for yourself and make things work with your lifestyle. The changes to healthier food will come, but this is usually a slow and thoughtful process. Do your best not to get "hangry". If it's too late to plan for tomorrow, just bring a protein source that you have on hand (hard boiled eggs, Greek yogurt, cheese, steak strips, etc.)...and some veggies you like...carrots and/or fruit?
