Shocking I say, shocking!

This week I'm up 3 pounds. Shocking I say! I mean I spent 14 hours a day in a 4 foot area baking cookies for 6 days straight. I walked on average 1500 steps a day. I did however continue to eat like I was working out every day so there's that. Oh hang on wait, that's not how that's supposed to work.

I'm not shocked that I am up, I tried to explain to my husband that this was going to happen and surprisingly enough he was shocked.

"I'm up three pounds this week."
"How is that possible we worked out!?"
"By work out do you mean the 2 - 20 minute sessions of learning how to do the classes we've started doing?"
"Yes, those were hard."
"You're so pretty."

The sessions aren't really a workout, they are just step by step instructions we we'll be able to learn the moves needed. Each session burned about 120 calories.

The weight is not water, it's not "muscle" it's food. I'm retaining food. Could it have been avoided? The gain could have of course, I did meal planning but I didn't take into consideration I needed to drop my calories about 500 a day to compensate for my lack of movement.

Its easy to get into a routine and not realize that what we're doing might be the right steps but to the wrong music. While I was very careful to make sure I was eating proper meals and getting the right balance I still missed a key factor on correcting portion sizes. That was a hefty lesson to learn!

One more week of cookie madness and then my business gets a break for a month. On the bright side my business has really grown, I pulled out a photo of when we first started and compared it to now. It's been a great 3.5 years. I'm really proud of this.
