I hope that everyone celebrated ending 2019 safely and with loved ones. I had a headache and chose to stay home in PJ's and watch the ball drop on TV.

Yesterday I started off the new year by taking a 7 mile hike through the Mark Twain National Forest with my daughters, son-in-law and his parents. It was treacherous at times but very beautiful. It took me back to my childhood when I would explore the woods every chance I got. My biggest obstacle was that I wore tennis shoes not knowing that our hike was going to be through the forest (I wasn't informed on where we were going) and the sticker bushes that I kept finding as I was trying to avoid the mud and water spots. The weather was beautiful and it felt great to accomplish the 7 mile hike that I wasn't prepared for.

As I reflect on the past year, I remind myself that I am very blessed and thank GOD for all I have been given. We hosted Christmas at our house on Christmas Eve for my husband's father, stepmother, stepsisters and their children. My daughter and I made homemade pizzas and everyone enjoyed them. Christmas Day, we did brunch for family and my daughter's in-law's followed by a walk at a nearby park and later had my husband's mother over. I feel very blessed to have a wonderful family and home that I'm able to share.

I recently attended two funerals that makes me very sad for those who are left to grieve for every Christmas from now on. Both of these men were wonderful husband's and grandfather's that had health issues that took them way too soon. It's never easy to lose a loved one but on a special date or holiday makes it so much harder. I pray for all who have to endure this awful pain.

Another year means closing the door on one chapter and opening a new one. My 2020 Goals:
1) Be a better person to everyone
2) Concentrate on ME
3) Build a stronger, leaner body
4) Learn to love myself

They seem so simple yet difficult to achieve. Baby steps and concentration is what it takes to win the prize.

I wish each and every person reading this many blessings!

I think you said it so eloquently:
Another year means closing the door on one chapter and opening a new one.
