A first time for everything

Sunday, January 05, 2020

So I'm new here, well the account was started in 2014 but hardly used. This time around I want to stick at it and am doing the 21 day New Member Challenge, as I find the amount of information on this site a bit overwhelming. Could be part of the reason its taken 6 years to really get at it.

Day 6 of the challenge is to write a blog about my progress in the last few days...so here I am. To be honest, I'm not very comfortable doing this, so can't guarantee that this won't be my first and last.

I know from other diet sites that keeping track of what I eat helps me stay on track. I find this very tedious...this list of excuses "why" are quite long. But when I take the time, I know that seeing the list of what has gone in my mouth helps me at night, in front of the tv, to fight the "head" battle that says the chips are in the kitchen.

This week hasn't been so great with the exercise. The sport groups I belong to are closed over the holidays and I'm not to the point yet, where I can fight myself to just do it! I have been keeping track of my steps. I'm not at 10000 per day of my goal, but average this week 6300+ per day. Aerobics start again on Wednesday and I'm looking forward to it and my first actual fitness entry.

The good news: 1 kilo of the Christmas-Fat is gone!! To the other 22...watch out you're next!

You're doing great! Most of us suggest starting w/ a couple new habits & building from there over a few weeks. The activity all counts. I understand about the blog; you can share whatever, not just diet challenges. Glad you decided to recommitšŸØ

emoticon glad ur here. I've been here 12 years. Started in '07 at a horrible 214#. I'm at 135# but that took a long time since I didn't find a helpful doctor until 3 yrs ago. Watch an interview he gave that is on Youtube as he is very interesting. He's 74.

I know Sparks doesn't promote medicine, but it helped turn my life around.
